Another Snowy Morning

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Snowed here last night adding another inch to the couple we had already. Definitely looks like winter here. The boys are ready for breakfast and we’ll be spending a good portion of today getting ready for Erik to come next weekend.

Cleanup and Decoration

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Gretchen and Oskar (with some help from Xavier) have put up our Christmas tree (some of you may have noticed the tree to the right.) I’ve been able to carve away at a good bit of the clutter that belongs in my office, but due to the lack of space has been filling up the hallway. We’ve hit teens for temperature here too… that’s cold!

Winter’s Here!

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

We’ve had two days in a row now that we’ve been able to see snow falling! Certainly not enough to do much interesting in, but still snow. Gretchen, Oskar and Xavier have been battling colds over the last week, but have started to pull through. We’ve spent the last two days working on the house here - reorganizing (and re-wiring) the laundry room and beginning the huge cleanup efforts after the mess that was created during the kitchen counter install. Everyone survived the Fest this year, Memphis was very cool. (more…)

Precipitation ForecastI decided to check out the weather this morning to see if the race this weekend would be wet or dry. Much to my surprise, it looks like most of the country is going to see wet in the next 36 hours. Welcome to the new rain forest! Does anyone thing Global Warming/Climate Change might have something to do with this? Click on the map to see the larger version.

Snow in Illinois

Monday, February 12th, 2007

We’ve gotten some snow here in Illinois. It really feels like winter when the snow doesn’t go away a few minutes after it falls. Oskar’s doing very well in school and we’re pulling Xavier out (we think) since he’s hating going and there’s really no good reason for him to be there. Gretchen’s keeping the boys in line and I’ve been working way too much still - I am looking forward to autocrossing this year - but that’s still a few months away.

Frost

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

Today we have frost for the first time in about a month!

Quick Update

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

Snow! Okay, really more like flurries but it’s white! Vince and Jan left yesterday after a two day visit.

Misc

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

The Sun appears to be returning today - lifting that darkeness finally! Gretchen heads back to the doctors today to get some follow-up information on why she’s been so tired and seems to be getting over her cold/sickness/allergies thing. Xavier’s working on speaking still, he occassionally will try to mimick sounds and his sign lanuage vocabulary has grown as well - help, more, book etc.

Misc Update

Saturday, February 4th, 2006

A light dusting of snow has hit the ground here in Illinois, certainly not a significant amount but it’s nice to see white. Xavier has become quite fast when crawling and Oskar is getting ready to start swim lessons this week. Keeping our fingers crossed, we hope to have the closing on Peabody Street this week as well, keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Snowing!

Friday, January 20th, 2006

So it’s finally snowing here in Illinois. After a snowy November and December, we’re supposed to see 4-6 inches. It’s looking like a blizzard out there right now and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for more than they forcasted. Since yesterday they were predicting rain.
