Winter’s Here!

We’ve had two days in a row now that we’ve been able to see snow falling! Certainly not enough to do much interesting in, but still snow. Gretchen, Oskar and Xavier have been battling colds over the last week, but have started to pull through. We’ve spent the last two days working on the house here – reorganizing (and re-wiring) the laundry room and beginning the huge cleanup efforts after the mess that was created during the kitchen counter install. Everyone survived the Fest this year, Memphis was very cool. We stayed in a couple of nice rooms in Tunica, MS, which was a little further from Memphis than we had hoped but Keith and Rebecca hooked us up with a van on Saturday and we hired a limo on Friday and Keith and Rebecca rented a van on Saturday. Sunday Kevin and Rachel let me tag along to Graceland, which was cool – ’cause you can’t go to Memphis and skip Graceland.Below are a few photos from Graceland and the Fest. Weekend

Tomorrow I leave for Memphis leaving Gretchen behind for the fest since we’ve known each other! Oskar and Xavier got haircuts yesterday and Honesty Box for Facebook has been keeping me busy for the last few weeks.

The kitchen here at the house is still under construction, the counters have been installed in the Kitchen (but not the pantry) and the faucet we had selected didn’t fit on the sink, so that will be installed next week. Translation, no running water or dishwasher in the kitchen until next Tuesday! It all started this last Monday morning, when the new counter tops were installed.

14th Annual Deep & Eggy Fest

Friday we head to Memphis for the 14th Annual Fest. It’s looking to be a smaller gathering again this year. Below you’ll find a map of some of the locations we’ll be checking out while were in Memphis and I’ll post some pics from the BlackBerry while we’re there.

A Google Map of where we’ll be. We’re staying in Mississippi (technically) but this is just over the state line from Memphis, about 20-30 minutes south. We probably won’t hit ALL of the liquor stores

Deep and Eggy Fest

Wow, it’s been a while. We’re in OH for the fest this weekend staying at a very nice place called the Bingham. Today we’re heading out to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The boys are in IL with Oma for the weekend and as of yesterday are doing well.

Back From East Coast Tour

So some 3,500 miles later, we’re back home. We had a great time. While Gretchen and I are happy to be home, Oskar had just settled into a grove of being on the road and wanted to know where were were going next. Perhaps next time we will stay on the road longer. Photos are coming soon, including highlights from Halloween, the Air and Space Museum @ Dulles, Luray Caverns, Dinosaurland, Steep Rock, the Elizabeth II and of course the FEST! It was a long couple of weeks wasn’t it! Hey, did I mention we had a 50 degree drop in temperature from North Carolina to Illinois?

The fest pages have been updated, I am trying to get some images soon too! and lastly, here are two more animations, a matchbook opening (135Kb) and as an AVI (1035Kb), and the same one spinning (230Kb) perhaps I can add texture to this sometime.

Deep and Eggy Fest is comming to a town near you? We will be in Boston this year, check out the details here. Gretchen has moved from pre-school to Kindergarden after only a month and is working away at the new possition. NWF is treating me well, and I have been working on building a database driven website section for NWF Your Big Backyard. A childrens magazine.
