Xavier beat Oskar to the punch… first broken bone. Xavier and Oskar were having a little wild play on Xavier’s bed Saturday night until Xavier fell off his bed landing squarely on his shoulder. Gretchen’s instincts kicked in and she insisted that Xavier go to the hospital. After a little investigation, I agreed and X and I were off. We at the ER at 6:30pm and waited for 2 1/2 hours to be seen by the docs. Apparently the 3″ of snow tonight and ice over the last few weeks has made some conditions pretty nasty in Southeastern Minnesota. Finally at 11:00pm, after 5 x-ray shots and a few M&M bribes, her concerns were validated, his left Clavicle was fractured. He’s doing well with the whole thing and really enjoyed watching TV in bed while eating his candy. Did I mention that Xavier skipped his nap today. He’s resting now (as I suppose I should be) and is going to have to baby the arm for the next 2-3 weeks.
