I also wanted to add that Gretchen got a hair cut yesterday and is trying a new look! I like it!

Sunday, August 27th, 2006Trip to Virginia
Sunday, August 27th, 2006We’ve been blessed with two nights of Xavier sleeping through the night. Just prior to my trip to Virginia last week he had been getting up twice and it ended as a full on cold which he seems to be recovering from now. He would be up for two to three hours a night. The trip was a calamity of errors for me. I left Dundee at just before 4am for my 6am flight, arrived at O’Hare and sat down in my plane all on schedule. We then proceeded to sit on the plane (at the gate) for 2 1/2 hours while we waited for some particularly nasty thunderstorms. Ultimately, instead of getting to NWF by 9:30am, I got there at 12:30pm! Then as I checked into my hotel room, there was already someone staying there! The hotel didn’t want to believe me at first but finally saw it my way and gave me a new room. fortunately the meeting I was attending wasn’t as exciting! Oskar was sad yesterday that he didn’t get to ride the bus for two days and really wants to go to school today, alas, he’ll have to settle for church.

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006First day of school photos are now online. Enjoy!
Oskar starting school today
Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006It’s official, Oskar has started school. We put him on the bus this morning and then drove to the school to watch the kindergarten class “ring-in” the new year!
Autocross Update
Monday, August 21st, 2006Results were posted for yesterday’s race, I didn’t do too bad in class 19th of 36, (Street Tire) - not quite into the top half, but overall on the PAX index I’m not doing as well as I did earlier in the year. Heading into the weekend I was 21st in Street Tire for the year (of 33 who had competed 2 events or more). We will see how that looks once they update the numbers with the fourth event.
Getting Ready for School
Saturday, August 19th, 2006Yesterday we finally bought Xavier his very own pair of Sneakers (7 1/2)! Yep, that’s right, no more hand me down sneakers for him. Oskar also picked up a backpack and another couple of pairs of sneakers (12) to round out his back to school supplies. Next we need to get some clothing for both of them! Oskar’s starting school on Wednesday and is attending a birthday party this afternoon. Tomorrow is the fourth SCCA Solo race for the Chicago region - so Egg’s gone all day. Xavier had discovered Oskar’s wooden train stuff and is having a great time using the play table in the basement.
Pluto Saved
Wednesday, August 16th, 2006I know I’ll sleep better tonight knowing that Pluto has kept it’s status as a planet.
Kane County Cougars
Tuesday, August 15th, 2006Tonight we went out to the Kane County Cougars! They won and the kids seemed to have a good time. Xavier stayed awake until we got in the car to come home, while Oskar took off with Oma for the night.
Car Insurance???
Saturday, August 12th, 2006So we’re doing a three day no driving experiment since I forgot to pay our insurance premium on time and our Insurance won’t be instated until Monday. So far we have survived pretty well. I’m also back on South Beach Diet again, looking for a 30lb. drop in weight this time - wish me luck.
